We will be hosting a free STEAM Club (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) every Tuesday from January 16th to February 6th from 4-5 PM for students who attend or are interested in attending MCA. STEAM activities encourage learners to integrate various learning domains to create projects and solve problems. Clubs are available for current prekindergarten through seventh grade students.

What is STEAM and why is it important?

STEAM activities center around a problem that must be solved using practices from the following fields: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. STEAM activities are being emphasized in schools worldwide because they encourage innovative thinking, curiosity, creativity, collaboration, communication, and confidence while preparing students for practical life experiences.

  • Featured Activities for Pre-K/Early Elementary Students: building a tower, constructing a stronger house and alarm system for the three pigs, designing waterproof shoes & a better umbrella, engineering a mechanism to catch a ball
  • Featured Activities for Intermediate Students: engineering a marble maze, testing a battering ram, creating shadow art, and designing a straw bridge.
