Faculty
Ms. Abigail Howard
Kindergarten Teacher

Abigail Howard is MCA’s Kindergarten Teacher since 2024. Miss Howard has a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Valley Forge. Before working at MCA, she worked as a substitute at a Christian school where she gained experience as a long-term substitute in general education. Miss Howard is excited to teach kindergarten and share her love for Jesus and learning with her students!
Mrs. Catherine Ruppert
1st Grade Teacher

Catherine Ruppert is MCA's first grade teacher. She and her husband reside in Weatherly, PA. Catherine has her Bachelor of Arts degree and has been teaching in private schools for over 21 years. Mrs. Ruppert helped in the opening of another Pennsylvania Christian school in 2004, and has taught several preschool and early elementary grades. She loves to create a love for learning in children, as well as a love for Jesus. Mrs. Ruppert is excited to be a part of the MCA staff.
Mrs. Beth Snipas
2nd & 3rd Grade Teacher

Elizabeth Snipas started working as an Elementary Teacher at MCA is 2024. She lives in Mountain Top with her husband and two children. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Citizenship and Social Studies certification, she spent eight years as a substitute teacher. Most recently, Mrs. Snipas has held a position as a Title 1 paraprofessional helping students bridge gaps in Reading and Math. She is eager to share her love of learning and love of God with her students.
Mrs. Amber Klima
Intermediate ELA Teacher

Mrs. Amber Klima is excited to continue teaching English Language Arts to our intermediate students. Her and her husband recently welcomed a baby boy to their family! Mrs. Klima was formerly a director of an after-care program and a middle school ELA teacher. Her teaching certification is in Secondary Education and English.
Mrs. Lacey Claypoole
Intermediate Math & Bible Teacher

Lacey Claypoole is MCA’s Intermediate Math and Bible Teacher. She lives in Shavertown with her husband and three children. Mrs. Claypoole holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with an additional certification in Middle School Math. She brings nearly 20 years of experience working with children of all ages. She is active in her church and is passionate about helping students grow both academically and spiritually. Now in her second year at MCA, she is excited to continue equipping students to engage their faith within the context of education.
Mrs. Jasmine Gray
Intermediate Science & History Teacher

Mrs. Jasmine Gray is MCA’s Intermediate Science and History teacher. She lives in Nanticoke with her husband and two children. Mrs. Gray has a Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies and a Private School teacher certification. She has over 10 years of experience working as a preschool teacher as well as a preschool director. She is an ordained minister and is very involved in her church.
Mrs. Michelle Thorpe
Preschool Teacher, Elementary Art and Music

Michelle Thorpe is MCA‘s Preschool and Specials teacher. She has been working in the early childhood education field for 16 years and has her child development associate credential. She and her husband moved from New York 28 years ago and raised their two daughters in Mountain Top. She’s looking forward to teaching her students and helping them learn and grow in God‘s love.
Ms. Kate Snipas
Preschool Teacher; Physical Education, K-3 STEAM

Kate Snipas started working at MCA in 2023 and has served as a prekindergarten teacher and 1st & 2nd grade teacher. She currently resides in Mountain Top. Miss Snipas has a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in human resources from Keuka College. She holds a private school teacher certification, as she works towards a master's degree in teaching from Liberty University. Prior to working at MCA, Miss Snipas worked in various roles in the human resources field, before finding her passion for education. She has been volunteering in the youth ministries at Mountaintop Family Church for the past five years and is excited to bring a unique perspective on learning to the classroom.
Pastor Debbie Knorr
Music Teacher

Pastor Debbie Knorr has faithfully served in women's, children's, and worship ministries for over 30 years. She is the Administrative Pastor of Mountaintop Family Church and has been a huge blessing to the MCA family. She is also a gifted musician and has taught private music lessons, orchestrated bands & choirs, served on a worship team, and directed musicals for the past 30 years.
Pastor Carrie Martin
Middle School/High School Art Teacher

Pastor Carrie is MCA's Middle School & High School Art Teacher. She has a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and seven years of experience as a Youth Pastor. Pastor Carrie is so excited to invest in art education at our school!

Pastor Megan Walsh
School Director

Pastor Megan is MCA's School Director. She lives in Mountain Top with her husband and daughter and has been a part of MFC Church since 2002. Pastor Megan has a dual bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education, a minor in Children's Studies, and a master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction. Before working at MCA, she worked in public school for over five years where she gained experience in general education, emotional support, and learning support classrooms. She is passionate about preparing students to live out their calling and share the love of Jesus!
Mrs. Kari Grauel
Administrative Assistant
School Advisory Board

Kari Grauel is MCA's Administrative Assistant and a member of the School Advisory Board. She lives in Mountaintop with her husband and two daughters. Kari has a bachelor's degree in Special Education and spends much of her free time volunteering with children's programs at Mountaintop Family Church. Kari loves to cook and bake, craft, go camping, and be outdoors. She feels so blessed to be a part of the MCA family and is thrilled to get to love the kids of MCA each day!
Mrs. Rochelle Dotzel
School Advisory Board

Rochelle Dotzel is a CPA with her own firm in the Mountain Top area. She has been married to her husband, Nick, for 25 years and they have 3 sons. Rochelle has a dual Master’s degree in Finance and Taxation. She has worked with numerous non-profit entities and school as an auditor over the course of her career. Rochelle feels it is a privilege to be part of the advisory board, not only as an opportunity to offer her expertise in her profession, but as a way to serve God in the work He is doing at Mountain Top Christian Academy.
Ms. Katie Lloyd
School Advisory Board

Katie Lloyd has been the Administrative Assistant at Mountaintop Family Church for the last twelve years. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Bloomsburg University. She has a son in middle school and a daughter in elementary school who are very excited to be attending Mountaintop Christian Academy! Katie is excited to be a part of a school community where children will both receive an excellent education and learn to understand the world through the eyes of their Creator.
Ms. Lisa Percevault
School Advisory Board

Lisa Percevault serves on MCA's School Advisory Board and has called Mountaintop "home" since 2010. She is Senior Marketing Consultant with Bold Gold Media Group and has earned a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and a master's degree in Business Administration. She is a member of The National Honor Society of Leadership and Success and loves helping business owners with their advertising efforts. When she's not working or spending time at church, she loves making memories with her family and spreading the Good News!
Pastor Jacob Walsh
Administration

Pastor Jacob has been serving as an associate pastor at Mountaintop Family Church since 2019. During that time he has worked with children and teenagers while leading youth group, facilitating clubs, and chaperoning camps. He is excited to mentor the students at MCA and help encourage their academics in a Christ-centered environment.
Pastor Brian Knorr
Lead Pastor at MFC

Pastor Brian Knorr has been faithfully serving in the ministry for over 30 years. He is the Lead Pastor of Mountaintop Family Church which he planted 22 years ago with his wife, Debbie. We are so thankful to have his leadership and support as a ministry of Mountaintop Family Church.

Mrs. Sherrie Simpson
Building Aide

Mrs. Simpson has a Bachelor's Degree in Business & Merchandising Management. She has a well-rounded background managing retail stores, computer training and procurement specialist in Information Technology, and a CEO administrative assistant. She has previously worked as a Kindergarten Assistant Teacher, Elementary Substitute Teacher, Literacy Aide and Tutor, and Resource Inclusion Aide for Special Education. Mrs. Simpson currently volunteers in the KidsTown Ministries at Mountaintop Family Church. She has a genuine passion to help kids know Jesus, have fun, and foster a positive learning environment. Sherrie resides in Mountain Top with her husband and three children.
Mrs. Rachel Kaslavage
Administrative Aide

Rachel Kaslavage is MCA’s Administrative Aide. She lives in Mountain Top with her husband, son, and daughter. Rachel has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a Specialization in Accounting. Her former job was in public school where she worked as a paraprofessional and later took on the role of preparing and serving food to hundreds of students each day. She also has over 10 years of experience in banking and accounting, which has helped her advance her office and computer skills. She is thankful God has blessed her with this opportunity to use the gifts He’s given her. With God’s help, she will aid in making the day-to-day functions of the office and school run smoothly and efficiently.
