Season Finale: JV and Varsity February 2026 Games

On Saturday, February 21st, the MCA basketball team played their second game against Charis Academy. Both teams showed much improvement and had many things to celebrate. The first game that was played was the Junior Varsity game. In the game, Jaden Rubio led the team in baskets with 5 points. Jacob Lloyd also scored 3 points. Luke Dotzel also had 4 rebounds. In the end, the team came up short, but Pastor Jacob, the coach, was very proud of everyone that played. The second game was the Varsity game. The final score was Charis-47 and MCA-29. Jeremiah Flores led the team with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Jacob Lloyd had 8 points and 3 rebounds. Matthew Kaslavage also helped secure 5 rebounds. Zaidalee Flores chipped in with 3 points and 4 rebounds, and Luke Dotzel also helped secure 4 rebounds. The Varsity Team made 9 foul shots and 5 3-pointers. The following week, the team had a celebration for a great season. At the celebration, the team enjoyed pizza and played a couple rounds of knock-out and 2v2 games against Pastor Jacob and Pastor Megan. Pastor Jacob also gave out several awards which are listed below. MCA is very pleased with this first year of basketball and we can not wait for this program to grow. We are so thankful for everyone who participated in this and we are so proud of them for all their hard work.
